Yanna Esterleyn

Founder & Chief Executive Officer at Sustany Global

Yana Esterleyn is the Founder of Sustany Global, a renewable energy and infrastructure development platform focused on originating, structuring, and delivering utility-scale projects across emerging markets. She brings over 16 years of experience in international business, with deep expertise in project development, financial structuring, and government engagement.

She has co-led the advancement of large-scale energy initiatives, including a 1 gigawatt solar program in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, working closely with public authorities and institutional partners to structure bankable projects and align them with development finance institution standards. Her work focuses on speed and disciplined project execution, risk allocation, and the integration of environmental and social frameworks required for long-term infrastructure investment.

Prior to Sustany, Yana served as Chief of Operations at TransCash, where she oversaw international expansion and operational systems across Europe. She holds an MBA from the University of Southern California, a degree in Business Development and Finance from Pepperdine University, and a degree in Public Relations from Omsk State University.

Christian Kameir

Strategic Advisor - Institutional Finance & Global Partnerships

Christian Kameir is a Founding Managing Partner of Sustany Capital, focused on sustainable infrastructure, digital finance, and institutional capital strategies. He brings over two decades of experience across corporate law, technology, and financial systems, including early leadership in the development of Europe’s internet infrastructure.

He previously served as Executive Vice President at Nikoma AG and as in-house counsel at Bertelsmann AG, and contributed to Germany’s telecommunications deregulation framework. Christian is a recognized thought leader in sustainable finance and decentralized systems, a Forbes contributor, guest lecturer at Harvard Business School, and Chair Emeritus at the Decentralized Identity Foundation.

He holds a law degree from the University of Münster with a focus on international and corporate law. His forthcoming book, Streaming Money, explores next-generation financial infrastructure and capital deployment.

Ashu Sagar

Country Director - Zambia at Sustany Global

Ashu Sagar is Country Director for Zambia, bringing over 25 years of leadership across manufacturing, industrial development, and private sector engagement in Zambia. He is a former President of the Zambia Association of Manufacturers, where he actively supported industrial policy development, trade facilitation, and sector growth,
and continues to be an influential voice in the industry.

Ashu is also Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Carribea Beverages, a regional enterprise focused on building local value chains and expanding market access. He works closely with government, industry stakeholders, and international partners to advance investment, infrastructure, and sustainable economic development.

His experience in navigating regulatory environments and driving private sector-led growth strengthens project execution, stakeholder engagement, and alignment with national development priorities.

Ayo Sopitan

Strategic Advisor - Mineral Resources Strategy & Partnerships

Ayo is the Founder and CEO of Metalex Commodities Inc., a US-based carbon-neutral producer of critical metals operating in Zambia, Mauritania and Nigeria with its flagship project being a copper-cobalt mine in Northwestern Province, Zambia. Before founding Metalex, he spent 15 years in various roles in management consulting, commodity trading at EY, Accenture, OpenLink Financial amongst other firms. He is a member of the US Export-Import Bank Advisory Committee on Sub-saharan Africa, a member of the advisory board for the MIT Kuo Sharper Center for Prosperity and Entrepreneurship as well as the $1B AFA Initiative Critical Minerals Fund. He attended Bryant University, New York University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
